Prejudice isn't that bad

People often assume prejudice is bad by definition.

This comes from the general idea that has been raised recently that claims that generalizing is bad.

They couldn’t be more wrong.

In fact, saying that generalizing is bad, is a generalization and therefore that argument is an inductive fallacy.

In fact, generalizing is often good.

It is a survival instinct, we wouldn’t be here without doing it.

“Fire is hot”

“Dinosaurs kill”

…

Of course not every dinosaur will kill you but I think it is better to think it will… Better safe than sorry. Hoping for the best but expecting the worst…

Prejudice can help you.

I am not implying that prejudice is good.

I am just saying it’s not as bad as some people want us to think.
