Routine is underrated

Nowadays it’s common to find these sort of groups promoting the popular philosophy idea that routine is bad.

These people tend to encourage people to step out of their comfort zone (which is great) and stuff like that.

This ideology, other than being cheap ‘feel-good’ philosophy, is damaging society in a way.

This is how:

As I said earlier, I have nothing against seeking discomfort, but it isn’t true that you’ll become an awesome human being and a better person by doing that.

In fact, what it’s undeniably true is that individual progress lies under routine, hard work and perseverance.

Yes you can have so much fun by getting rid of routine and living some cool experiences but the things that shape you and make you have a meaningful life in the long run are things such as; Reading, Working out, Studying, Watching movies…

A good routine, makes you improve yourself by being able to do such things not only once like when you “seek discomfort” but every single day.

You don’t get fit by working out once. You get fit by having a routine.

You don’t become more educated by reading once. You do so by having a routine.

You don’t get a degree studying once. You get it if you have a good routine.

Routine isn’t bad by nature. Don’t overlook it and just make a good use of your time.
